Fairfax Tree Rescuers PRISM - Volunteers
December 8,2025
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and is enjoying this holiday season. The trees may be taking their winter rest, but our work continues at Fairfax Tree Rescuers PRISM and there are many opportunities to participate and make a difference!
A great way to use your language skills:
Anyone speak Korean? We would like to translate some basic information into Korean to give to our neighbors.
We are also planning a conference for Spanish-speaking landscape professionals. If you speak Spanish and can help, please let us know.
If you speak other languages and perceive a need for translated materials for those groups, your help with that would also be welcomed.

And your computer skills!
Anyone familiar with Google Workspace? We have an account but don’t know how to use it. :) We’d appreciate guidance! Contact

We are building our team for the CCAN Polar Plunge and would love for you to join us! Or, if you know someone crazy enough to take a winter dip in National Harbor, please spread the word. Not only is it an exhilarating way to start the new year, but it will help us to raise much needed funds.
The plunge takes place on February 7, 2026. If you sign up through us, half the proceeds will go to Fairfax Tree Rescuers PRISM and the other half to the host, the Chesapeake ClimateAction Network. Email

How to win “Volunteer of the Week Award” with one simple email
The success of this grand effort depends on the enthusiastic participation of innumerable volunteers, for which we are eternally grateful. But one of the biggest headaches for the organizers is when a volunteer starts ghosting us. It is totally fine to back out either temporarily or permanently after you have signed up for something, but please - let us know immediately! Otherwise, it may be months before we realize that the job isn’t getting done.
